Work with upto 9 files at once
Fields from upto 9 separate files can be selected and joined for maintenance. A friendly selection interface allows you to specify the desired fields from different files and view them together in a virtualcomposite record. Easily create custom views bringing together master and transaction file data.

User Space maintenance
Now you can easily view and edit User Spaces. FEU can be used for more than just *FILE type of objects.
Return
Work with journal by field
Feu allows you to extract data from journalsand work with them as if they were the original files. The field definitions are applied to the journal and the data appears as it did in the original file.
Return
Modify spoolfiles
Feu now allows you to workwith spoolfiles as easily as data files. Never again have to re run batch jobs to make a small change to the print out, wrong date perhaps? FEU will let you change it. Spoolfiles can also be converted to HTML for wider distribution
Return
Data Area,Data Queue maintenance
Now you can easily view and edit Data Areas, and Data queues. FEU can be used for more than just *FILE type of objects.

Return
User definable displays
The fields displayed on the screen are user selectable, additional fields may be added, field sizes may be adjusted, and the definition of the display can be saved to be used again. Record selection and sequencing criteria can also be saved along with the display definition.
Return
Multiple display modes
Data in the file may be viewed (and editted) in any of the display modes. The display can show multiple records on the screen, one per line or it can display one record per screen. In the multiple record mode the display may be either by position or by field, taking the field definitions from the DDS definition and displaying them appropriately depending upon the data type. In the single record mode data may be displayed by position or by field (one field per line). Additionally the hex values may be displayed in single record mode.
Return
Integration with PDM displays
FEU can be launched directly from object and member displays of IBM's Program Development Manager using a user defined option.
Return
Work with user defined subsets.
FEU allows users to work with subsets of fields. Selected fields can be reordered, changed in size or even new fields added to the display. Fields can also be individually protected if necessary.
Return
Member file and library selection lists
Lists are available for the selection of the library, file and member to be viewed or edited.
Return
Global search for objects
FEU helps you to find an object by full or partial name anywhere on the AS/400.
Return
Database relationships display
A new database relations screen allows you to see not only the associated LFs or PFs but also other LFs associated with the associated PFs. Easily view and switch between related access paths.

FEU then allows you to see the data which has been deleted and if required to restore the data to its pre-deletion state. The record retains its physical position within the file.
Return
Select blocks of records
Subsets of records can be selectedas groups by selecting the start and end record. The sam functions that can be used on search results can also be carried out on groups, ie. display, change, delete, export,or print.

Return
Complex search and replace logic
The file may be searched to find data strings in logical combination.Any format of data can be specified, search can be limited to a range of records, a range of positions within the record or to specific fields. When a matching record is found, one of a number of operations can be carried out, These are Print, Delete, Count, Extract or Replace. For replace, new data may be a constant or can be calculated from existing fields in the record, and may be placed anywhere within the record. For example all prices for a group of products could be increased by 5% without writing any programs.
Return
Decimal data error correction
Fields containing invalid decimal data can be tracked down and repaired using one of the new features of FEU.
Return
View Change Delete search results
The records selected as the result of a search may be displayed as a sub set, updated according to user specified criteria or simly deleted. These actions can be carried out one record at a time interactively or as a batch interactively or submitted to a batch queue
